"Inspection Report 2015"

About: Southwell Medical Centre

I read with surprise of the 'outstanding support' offered to bereaved patients in the last practice inspection. That was not my experience.

Following the sudden and unexpected death of my spouse it took 3 weeks before I was contacted by my G.P. on their return from leave.

The others members of staff clearly don't pick up the work of absent Doctors. Very disappointing to say the least.

I am very disappointed to read about your experience. Please accept our apologies that you heard nothing from us at such a difficult time.

I can assure you that Drs do cover each other's work when they are on leave but clearly this got missed somewhere. If you would like to contact the practice and let me know the details, I will investigate why you didn't get any contact and we can hopefully use this as a learning experience.

You will see from the Inspection Report that generally the response from patients was positive to our levels of care which is why it is so disappointing that on this occasion we let you down.

I am sorry.

Practice Manager.
