"Left feeling degraded and disheartened"

About: Kirkby Health Centre

I went into the surgery last week and saw a GP for a back issue (I had been to primary care who advised me to follow up with my GP). The appointment was spot on. The medication I had been prescribed was explained to me and it was decided that we needed to wait until the pain was more manageable before taking the next steps so we could avoid making the problem worse.

As asked, I went in this week, but was unable to get an appointment with the same doctor. The doctor I saw this time was rude, did not listen to what I was saying, couldn't understand why I was there and furthermore basically told me that my back pain was due to my weight (I have been a similar size for 10 years and NEVER had a back issue). The doctor then wrote out a prescription for pain meds, gave me a list of exercises to do (which I was already doing - love the usefulness of YouTube) and sent me on my way.

I have never felt so degraded in all my life. I was made to feel like I was wasting the doctors time, like the doctor didn't care about my health or well-being and I know I have definitely wasted my time!

This is an issue I am genuinely concerned about and I don't want the problem just swept under the carpet with pain relief. I pay taxes and national insurance yet can't get access to a decent and consistent health care system? I wish I could afford private health care!!
