"Aftercare from ENT"

About: Rotherham Hospital / Ear, Nose and Throat

Lots of trouble with my Daughter having major nosebleeds, got to see consultant as a emergency appointment who booked her In for a investigation two days later.

Went to theatre as planned, more surgery than expected so had to stay on the ward six hours ( which is not the problem ) what is the problem is that on leaving the children's ward I was given a piece of paper & told to call if there was any problems over 48 hours post op!

Another bleed happened the following day, when I called the number I was told to take my daughter to Doncaster as no ENT are available over the weekend! Although the staff on the children's ward are absolutely amazing & I really cannot fault any of their hard work - seriously what was the point on handing out numbers if my child cannot be seen there.

Nosebleed subsidied but we wanted to let the consultant know about this as there was still a lot of fresh blood in the mucus - his words to us were any problems ring my secutary! This is exactly what we & my local GP have been doing since Monday, constant ansewphone after promising to get back to us on Monday, emails have even been sent & no reply!

Switchboard do not want to give any other info out about contacting the department - is the secutary off work? Could someone else be covering & maybe we could speak to them? Unsure as we keep getting told all they can do is give the Doctor's secutarys number to us, the one we have been trying to contact since Monday, absolutely appalling.

My Daughter is know been monitored by GP, for Anema & antibiotics have been given for infection, if we do not get in contact tomorrow 09/05/2018 we will be going on the 50mile round trip to Doncaster so they can monitor my daughter.

So all in all excellent staff & consultants shame about those who you need to contact about after care
