"Recent Visit to Mount Vernon minor injury clinic"

About: Mount Vernon Hospital Site

I chose to visit this centre, looking for treatment for suspected (but definitely painful) Tonsillitis because it was reasonably close to my Watford base, it had been recommended to me and also my GP surgery is not local to the area. The receptionist asked several questions of me including what I expected - the rationale for Tonsillitis it seems is sometimes to monitor and take general pain relief / rest etc, but I specifically wanted antibiotics. The receptionist then thought to check with the Nurse to see if this was something she could actually prescribe, before booking in and waiting. Very thoughtful and helpful. As I'm no doctor, I can't say whether the Nurse who saw me was thorough or not - but she listened carefully, she was very understanding (particularly noting the troubling pain) and clearly only going to prescribe penicillin if she thought it was warranted. I offer a serious thank you for your care. I would definitely return here if unfortunate enough to be feeling this way again. Very, very good.
