Two days before my 48th birthday I was admitted to the Alexandra ward Redditch after having a double sided stroke. From the time I was admitted to leaving to begin my rehabilitation at the Princess of Wales hospital, my care from the doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, clinical care team and the nursing staff day and night was faultless.
Without the “alex angels “ I would not be writing this today (even though its with my left hand as the stroke affected my right side more). I was told exactly what had happened to me in a manner I could understand.
In the times I felt down the nursing and domestic staff kept my spirits up, on my birthday the clinical care stroke team sang to me. It just doesn’t seem enough to say thank you but thank you my alex angels.
