My daughter was originally referred to the RMCH last October. I could not find out anything about waiting times despite numerous phone calls and lengthy times on hold. I only managed to get an appointment after making a formal complaint. The reason for the phone problems and delay in appointments were all down to staff (particularly consultant) sickness. My daughter has only been able to attend school sporadically yet almost 8 months later we are still waiting for an appointment at the pain clinic (currently set for mid July). We're back to see the spinal nurse at the end of June - I am left to assume that her MRI scan (carried out in mid April) did not show anything serious as we have not yet had a follow-up appointment and I have not had any information about why we are seeing the nurse, not the doctor Wonderful building and equipment - friendly and helpful staff (including complaints handling staff), terrible administrative systems and waiting times for a child in pain.
