"Appointment for my swollen eye"

About: The Skelmersdale Walk in Centre

(as a service user),

I work in a clinic with doctors and nurses. I have had trouble with my eye swelling randomly for years. So much so, I have had a biopsy, all clear!

Any way, it swelled again over the weekend and I needed to know if an infection had caused it or whether it was my lacrimal gland. The doctors and nurses I work with are concerned it's my eye problem again, it causes pain and headaches and I need treatment. There is no GP appointments left by the time I get through, so I am sent to the walk-in..

A two hour wait, and a nurse tells me, within seconds, it's an allergic reaction.

I take daily antihistamines for my asthma and I know the difference between an itch eye from allergies Vs my eye being under pressure.
