"My second Lucentis eye injection appointment."

About: Good Hope Hospital / Ophthalmology

(as the patient),

I've just been told, in a telephone conversation that my second Lucentis injection, due tomorrow exactly four weeks after the first, will have to wait until some time at the the end of the month; in other words several weeks later. Reason?  A backlog.

Why was I put on a course of treatment with a prescribed time schedule of four weeks between injections if the service can't deliver the programme of treatment on time?

On the sheet,Ophthalmology Direectorate Information for Patients, patients are told that if they are having a course of treatments, they will be told when to attend for their next injection or check up. I was told that I would be informed  of the dates by post in due course. I'm now still waiting for news of my second injection appointment. And also I am wondering when the third injection will take place which should be four weeks after the second according to the time schedule in the  guide to therapy with Lucentis.

I feel frustrated and thwarted!
