"Overall brilliant care"

About: Springfield University Hospital (London)

(as a student nurse),

Overall the care offered by the team is brilliant under those hard circumstances where there is a shortage of staff, depending on bank staff who, in most cases, have little rapport with the patients. Having said that it doesn’t mean that all things are rosy, for example with the fact that the nurses value their ‘6 cs’ . to my observation paper work is keeping the nurses away from fulfilling some of them like compassion.

As regards to learning environment, the first week can be really difficult, especially where the mentor works a different shift from that of a student. Some staff can be difficult to approach; there’s no particular system for students but there was a lot to learn and experience was good; and the mentor was supportive when we met.

Dear empathypm75

My name is Farai and I am the Engagement and Experience Co-ordinator for the Trust.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback for your experiences during your placement. I am sorry to hear that your first week was not a great experience, but pleased to learn that once you had your mentor she was supportive.

I will pass this feedback to the student nurse team so that they can consider your suggestions to improve the learning environment for student nurses.

I wish you all the best with your studies.

Kind regards

Farai
