Best bits
I was taken into hospital on Easter Saturday. The X-ray staff were all available and X-rayed my alimentary canal on Easter Monday (which was of course a bank holiday). This led to prompt diagnosis and treatment. The standard of nursing care was good throughout.
Worst Bits
Of the twelve days I was an in-patient 4 were bank holidays. I feel the standard of care dipped badly on those days. I found it particularly annoying that the final visit by nurses (with the drug trolley) often took place long after 10pm and they didnt turn off the main ward lighting, thus it was difficult to sleep. Other patients kept talking and the nursing staff didn’t lower their voices. It seemed to me that the electricity bill would be rising quite alarmingly to no purpose. When a new patient was brought into the ward of course the staff needed good lighting but not otherwise.
I wet my pyjama trousers; a nurse was instructed to fetch another ready pair. The nurse threw the trousers at me without a word or offering to help. I complained to her colleague who said she didn’t like the people in this hospital! I don't understand why this person would still be in their job if they express this attitude towards patients.
"A bad attitude to have towards patients"
