"Excellent care in Ward 33"

About: Victoria Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I was admitted with infective discitis and stayed as an inpatient for 2 weeks followed by daily IV antibiotics as an outpatient did a further 4 weeks.

The staff in the ward were fantastic. They were kind and caring, always respectful and attentive.

The ward was always busy but the care never faltered.

Dorothy L., you should be very proud of all your staff.

Dear Kandizak

Thank you for taking the time to post on Care Opinion.

It sounds like you've had a tough time recently and I was sorry to read that you needed such a prolonged period of treatment in hospital and then at home.

It is good to know that you found the staff in Ward 33 to be caring and attentive and they clearly helped you on your road to recovery.

I know Dorothy is proud of all her staff and I will pass on your post to her now to share with all her team, they will be grateful for your kind words.

I hope that you are now recovering well and thanks again.

Kind regards

Gill

Update posted by Kandizak (the patient)

Hi Gill

I am recovering well, thank you.

I cannot express my gratitude strongly enough to the staff. They really took care of me and are a credit to the hospital and the NHS.

We hear too much negativity about the NHS and I felt praise was needed.

Kind regards
