I used the surgery from 1995 and have to state I was very pleased with some of the GP's and always considered they went that extra mile in explaining any diagnosis I had .
However back in August 2017 I saw a GP at the Medical Centre as I was suffering from acute anxiety and silent acid reflux . I'd known the GP for many years and trusted and respected her both as a patient and indeed as a fellow professional (I work in Health and Social Care ), but on this particular day
I found her rude and dismissive about my poor mental health even though I have been on medication for years for anxiety and depression .
She appeared to show no empathy or have any sympathy whatsoever when I explained that I was full of fear. In fact she became almost vexed and then produced this very unconvincing laugh in a bid to cover her obvious annoyance .
I have to state that the medication is now working well for me especially since I have had it increased ,but I was so upset by this experience and promptly changed medical centres .
I work with many clients who have poor mental health, but I would never dream of speaking to them the way she spoke to me on that day .Still upset by this experience .
"Poor experience"
