"Thankyou so much"

About: Royal Derby Hospital / Gynaecology

I was on ward 209 for a day case operation on 22nd Feb 2018. Everyone was professional and kind. Just before my op, i was wheeled through to a small ward where the nurse did some final checks and waited with me for the anaesthesist assistant to collect me. She was so friendly and instantly put me at ease. Another staff member began chatting with us too which really took my mind off my pending operation. The anaesthesist's assistant came to collect me and did a few final checks, again chatting with me to put me at ease. Unbelievably i was laughing and joking minutes before my op, whereas I'd usually be feeling sick with worry. I was then wheeled through to have the anaesthetic administered and all 3 of the anaesthesist team were so friendly. I cannot begin to explain the difference this made. I was so anxious about my operation, but their warm, friendly manner completely made the whole experience alot better than I'd anticipated. The same nurse was then by my side as i woke up from the op. I did ask her name but it's completely slipped my mind (i blame the drugs). I honestly cannot praise these staff members enough. Thankyou so much.
