"Worst experience of my life"

About: BPAS Streatham CC/Clinic

I booked an appointment for surgical termination of a pregnancy at BPAS Streatham. My appointment was in 2 and a half weeks on the day that I booked it and I then proceeded to book my flights to and from London as I was travelling from Ireland. My appointment was booked for 8 am in the Streatham clinic so we booked to fly over the night before and stay in a nearby hotel. 1 hour before our flight out I received a phone call from the clinic informing me that their surgeon wasn't coming in, I explained that I had my flights and hotel already booked but they showed no sympathy. They told me to go in to their clinic as organised at 8am for my 30min medical examination and scan, then travel to a clinic 1.5 hours away for the procedure but couldn't ensure that when I'd get there I'd be seen to straight away. Now at this stage my flight out was in one hour and they were ringing me as I was in floods of tears painicking. The manger then said the surgeon would be in at 1 o clock so I could have my procedure then, so I proceeded with flying to London and travelling for 2 hours to Streatham. When I arrived at the clinic and reminded the nurses of my flight the receptionist simply laughed saying you will not make that flight as if it was something to be laughing about. I had my medical by lovely nurses where they scanned and took my measurements, the receptionist then told me to be back at 10:30 for my 1 o clock appointment. I came back at 10:30 and was told a different story by every nurse and manager, one said you'll be out by 3, one said the surgeon will come at 1, another tried to tell me that no one said the surgeon would be here at one. They said once the surgeon arrives I will be seen to first. I sat in the waiting room until 1:30 pm, the surgeon at this stage was 'arriving at 2' when my boyfriend had to actually remind the nurses to give me my ibuprofen as I needed to take it an hour beforehand. They brought me in for prep for the surgery at 2:30 and I listened to the nurses and staff laughing 5 feet away from me over the fact that my flight was at 4:35. A lady came in and sat beside me in my plastic gown completely laughing and being smug denying that I was told the surgeon was due in at 1, then tried to tell me to book another flight home which was £211 each for both me and my boyfriend who are students and struggled to save for the procedure never mind more flights. She then lied at said Gatwixk airport was 40 minutes awayThe surgeon arrived around 3 o clock and I proceeded with the 15 minute procedure which was absolute agony. The nurses with me for the recovery period were lovely and I would like to point that out, but there was absolutely no communication between the staff there and subsequently I missed my flight, had to book a flight to a different part of Ireland for £100 each, and travel on a bus for 3.5 hours home in agony. It was a traumatic and stressful and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone at all.
