"I’m not seeking compensation; I just don’t want this to happen to anyone else."

About: Great Western Ambulance Service NHS Trust / Emergency ambulance service

(as a relative),

My daughter was recently crushed under a horse. She was leading the horse to the box when I fell and she became stuck underneath it. Her partner raced to her and called for an ambulance. When the paramedics arrived, they seemed very unsure of what they were going to do. They encouraged her to walk into the ambulance. She was in absolute agony and had suffered an injury to her spine and they wanted her to walk into the ambulance. After some discussion 9 we heard them talking about whether the clavicle was the collar bone or not) they decided to put the stretcher beneath her in two halves. As they did this they pinched her back (which left a mark). When she yelped they made the comment “well you wouldn’t walk on would you?” I think this is appalling. When she arrived at A&E there didn't seem to be any formal handover to staff.

When we spoke up to say she had suffered a crush injury the hospital staff rushed around to help her immediately. At this point she had no pulse at all in her left arm. I'm not seeking monetary compensation at all; I just don’t want this to happen to anyone else. I think it’s completely unacceptable.
