"Absolute embarrassment to the NHS."

Have been kept on hold for 60 minutes just to book an appointment. Stuck in horrific pain which are causing mental health issues, only to have phone hung up on me when told I can't see my Doctor for over a week, who'd specifically asked me to book an appointment with him ASAP. Standard practice is to tell you that someone will call you to book an appointment and you'll never hear back or that they'll chase up Surgeons at Hospital and get back to you, but a month later, you'll have to chase them up. All whilst, generally, making you feel like you are a burden and that they don't really want to help you. If this is the example of how inhumane medicine is becoming for poor people, then the future is bleak.

Dear Anon

I am sorry that you had a bad experience when trying to book an appointment. If in the future you have any problems we are very happy to talk to patients to help, please initially ask to speak to the Reception Manager.

We have a new system for accessing appointments introduced in July 2019. We now offer online access 24/7 or via our reception team. All requests for medical help are passed straight to our Doctors who will respond usually that day or within 24 hours depending on the request. They can contact you by telephone or we ring to arrange a face to face appointment. This is proving very successful and patients seem extremely happy with the new service ( see most recent user comments).
