Had an outpatients appointment with orthopaedic surgeon.
The surgeon sat in his office, I was in a tiny consulting room next door (adjoining).
Surgeon sent his junior to deal with me -which is fine - but then the junior was unsure of the diagnosis and went back into the office to discuss with the surgeon. I could only part hear what was being said but the junior then came back out and said that he and the surgeon did not agree, but that the surgeon himself didn't need to see me - I just had to wait another 4 months for an exploratory operation that, if my maths on the various stats he quoted is right, has about a 25% chance of succeeding. The surgeon who must have only been sitting a few feet away did not even stick his head around the door, let alone examine me - despite the fact that the junior could not reach a diagnosis.
This seemed to me both incredibly rude and a huge waste of both my time and theirs - I was there, on the table, 6 ft from him and he couldn't walk in and examine me, or even explain why he didn't need to.
Afterwards they just left me sitting in the room, no one said that we were "done" so I was waiting in case perhaps he was going to come out.
Eventually a nurse brought another patient in and was surprised I was still there - but still no follow up.
I left confused as to what will happen next.
