"Arrived at 9:18pm and was already told there..."

About: North Tyneside General Hospital

Saturday 19 February 2018,at 9:18pm went to the urgent center in the hospital at Rake Lane ... I asked for a walk in centre assistant and I was explaining to the man receptionist, that I was having fever since Tuesday and itwas never below 38,7 that I tried to automedicate with paracetamols but did work that I think I have an eaf infection in fact that night I went with an almost 40 Celsius degree and then suddenly a nurse behind the receptionist was looking and then asked what she has fever? The said that there were no more doctors by 10.

The receptionist nicely ask me to seat down, thanks Because I was literally shaking and drove myself to the hospital just to get check, luckily I'm just 2min away but and when they called me the same nurse assist me saying that I needed to go to Cramlington that I have a very high fever that I have an infection somewhere but there were np doctors to assist m and I said I was not gonna drive to Cramlington with my situation like this because I don't think it's safe. She said it's up to you then you will have to wait until tomorrow at 9am if you don't want to go to Cramlington. Reading the reviews it says there's a Gp until 10? Then why I was refused to be checked it was not even 9:30??? Why??? There were not many people seating in the waiting area. And surely it was no later than 9:30 because I have my tkt parking and parked in front at 9:18! Then I needed to go home because she was not gonna help me she just gave some paracetamol and said that if I feel shaking or something at night to call 111 or 999 if it get worst or so... THANKS FOR THE ADVICE BUT THAT DID NOT HELP ME!

She said it was not possible for me to be assisted by a Gp. I live by myself and Iwas literally suffering allnight after I got home. Now Sunday 19 February I still have 39,5celsius degree armpit! As we now it is not precise! Why you say there's a Gp until 10? IT WAS 9:20 AND I HVE GOT REFUSED TO BE CHECKED BY A DOCTOR. I DON'T UNDERSTAND.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am very sorry to hear about your recent experience at the Urgent Care Centre. Unfortunately, it is Vocare that provides the GP service in the Centre now and they are there from 9am – 22:00pm. If the doctor has patients booked in until 22:00, they will not take on any more and patients will be referred to Cramlington if the triage nurse feels further medical attention is required. I am sorry for the hassle this has caused you, I will pass this on to the team at Vocare to look into.

I hope you are feeling better soon.

Kind regards,

Jan
