About: University Hospital Of North Durham / General surgery

My mother was admitted here from her care home on 2nd Jan as an emergency after being diverted en-route to North Tees due to North Tees reaching crisis point. After a long wait in A&E (no fault of the staff) she was transferred to Surgical Admissions Unit then onto ITU after her op due to extensive health problems, then onto ward 16.

On all wards she was treated with the utmost care and respect by marvellous teams of staff, she says she will never be able to thank you enough.

Listening to all the negativity directed towards the NHS in the media, the government should be ashamed of the way its been left to deteriorate. Our NHS does a marvellous job. Thank you on behalf of my mother for the wonderful job you do.
