My Gran passed away at BRI in January 2018. My gran had been suffering from dementia and it had got progressively worse over the past few years. As a family we did our best to care for her at home, especially my mum who was her constant carer. Towards the end my gran suffered from so many infections which resulted in her being admitted to BRI on a number of occasions the service varied from fab to not so good. The care she received towards the end was great the staff were caring and had to deal with an elderly lady who would often lash out both physically and verbally!! the staff were caring, considerate and very understanding. Gran was meant to come home but passed away suddenly in hospital with family around her which was only possible with the fact that the staff contacted us to let us know that she was passing away so we were able to be there with her in her last moments. thank you all for this.
