I have been visiting the Gastroenterology Dept of this hospital, as an out patient, for several years, in relation to my Crohn's and Colitis, with reasonable satisfaction but there has been a decline in the service over the last year or so. The waiting times on my appointment days in March and September 2017, have not been less than 1 hour and actually 1 hour and 20 minutes on my visit, yesterday.
I did respond to the text message surveys in the same way-pointing out this problem - but it seems there has been no improvement. As if this lengthy waiting is not enough, I have noticed that there is also favouritism, whereby preference is given to some patients at the expense and detriment of others. This is done by re-placing the patient files who have checked in, during the waiting period.
This was only a suspicion up to my recent visit when I happened to be sitting very close to the file trolley and have actually seen it happen. This is totally unfair and immoral and it should be stopped immediately.
All patients expect to be given equal treatment and in my view this sort of practice, destroys the patient confidence, trust and faith in the service providers.
"Unaccepable wait and favouritism regarding..."
