"They showed me that it's OK to worry"

About: Six Degrees IAPT

(as a service user),

Before my sessions I had real problems with being around groups and other situations. I worried a lot, had problems with sweating in tight situations and could not sleep very well.

I felt that with the one to one sessions I had the opportunity to express my feeling and why I was worrying to the extreme levels that I did. This gave me a chance to look at the main reasons and the negative ways I was dealing with them. I tended to worry about things that had not happened yet and thus putting myself into a state that I did not need to be in.

During my sessions they showed me that it's OK to worry because it is a natural thing to do it's how you deal with it that matters. They showed me that to try to face up to your fears is the best way to deal with them.
