"Holds a special place in our hearts"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Neo-natal Intensive Care

(as a parent/guardian),

In early 2017 our world was turned upside down when unexpectedly I went into premature labour at 30 weeks. To add to the panic I was blue lighted to Wishaw General Hospital as our local hospital 5 mins from our home had no incubators free. I shouldn't have feared though as I was in the best of places.

Our daughter was born safely and had the most special care at Wishaw, we cannot thank and praise the team highly enough. The set up, organisation and professionalism was just first class. They looked after us all as a family so much, nothing was a problem, clearly understanding we were an hour away to our home and our son.

Special love and thanks to Pauline from neonatal who was the first on hand at the sudden arrival, you saved our special wee girl and we will never forget you, and every single member of staff including students that we dealt with, each one of you is a credit to your team. We will never forget the love and care for our wee girl. Thank you.

We will be forever grateful for this, and Wishaw General Neonatal will hold a special place in our hearts.

Thank you so much. Love from our family xxx

Dear Vegas1624,

Thank you for your kind feedback, this will mean so much to all the staff in the Neonatal team. We think this is the best place too. I hope you are all well.

I think you have summarised perfectly what everyone of them all aim for every day for every baby and their parents. Time flies, however, it is very apparent that the memories you have of your daughter's care from the staff in the Neonatal unit was extra caring, loving and special.

This would have been a very difficult and emotional time for you both and it is reassuring to know that the team provided the excellent clinical care required for your premature daughter.

I will pass on all your compliments to the full team and especially to Pauline who will equally be delighted.

Enjoy the days ahead.

Kindest regards

Wendy
