"Could be much better...."

I stayed here a while back, and was not impressed at all, not very clean, massively needed update all round!

Staff on the whole ok but some ‘heavy handed’ staff members.

Food could be much better too!

Doctors were pleasant enough though.

I hope this is useful in some way.

Ps i stayed here a couple of years ago for a short stay before moving on.

Dear Davej

I've spoken to the staff on this ward who were really disappointed with your experience of the service.

The service provides care for people at the most vulnerable and challenging moments in their lives and this requires clear unambiguous communication; a proactive attitude towards treatment and unfortunately occasional physical intervention which is only ever used as a last resort to ensure the safety of all individuals. We monitor any such interventions transparently, from the ward right through the organisation to our Trust board as this is an issue that we take very seriously.

Everyone has the right to feel safe and we hope to do this with compassion and understanding and in the least restrictive way possible.

We are pleased that your experience of staff on the whole was okay but if some staff have failed to treat people with the dignity and respect they deserve we wholeheartedly apologise and we would really appreciate a conversation with you to talk this through.

In terms of cleanliness and catering, the service has been able to recently increase the cleaning time on the wards and we are awaiting feedback from our contracts manager regarding making improvements to the menus as we know that this could be better.
