"I am now back to square one"

About: General practices in Greater Glasgow & Clyde

(as the patient),

I contacted my GP last October 2017 and spoke to a locum doctor. I explained I have been living with secondary progressive ms for 14 years. I Was diagnosed with fibromyalgia at my last visit to the pain management clinic (PMC) at stobhill a few years ago. I am also in a LOT of pain from arthritis in my hands. I suffer badly with constant headaches and migraines.

After speaking to the locum who said they would refer me to the PMC. Just after Xmas I phoned my regular GP to mention I've not received an appointment yet. I was really upset to find that the locum didn't organize my appointment. I am now back to square one, wasted all those months waiting. Every day is the same for me, the pain is unbearable. I am taking low dose naltrexone to help with debilitating fatigue which means I am unable to take strong painkillers as they don't work together. I cry most days and nights, my anxiety levels are sky high.

Update posted by Lindamac (the patient)

It's good to see that my story has taken an interest. It is very helpful for the telephone numbers that Julie sent. I hope I don't need to use them but it is very useful in case of an emergency situation.

It's interesting that someone from the Plymoth university has read my post.

Warm regards

Lindamac
