"Gastroscope Feb 7"

About: Stepping Hill Hospital

I arrived feeling very nervous both about the procedure of a gastroscope (camera down the throat into stomach)and the results. The staff were very gentle and reassuring. I was always told what was happening and treated kindly at all times.

The procedure wasn’t as bad as I had imagined and the sedation was brilliant.

Afterwards I was given the results and told what would happen next. Two days later I had a phone call to arrange the next X-ray in 3 days time.

A barium swallow test followed. Again everyone was so kind and the test was not frightening or unpleasant.

If you need either of these procedures don’t worry about them, you are in good hands.
