(as the patient),

Had a positive experience having been induced for my 3rd baby. From being admitted to west burn to have the induction started to being transferred to labour ward. The staff were friendly supportive and informative to what I found to be an anxious experience having never been induced in previous births. I also liked the laid back manner in which my husband was not chased out and we were encouraged to come and go from the west burn ward as we pleased in order to get the labour started his support was essential for me.

Through in labour ward my midwife Zoe was fantastic she was so upbeat and positive which you really need to get you through your labour and her fellow colleagues, student midwifes were also great throughout my care and my baby’s. Thank you all for getting my baby here safe and sound!

Thank you for your lovely feedback, it's always good for the team to hear that you had such a positive experience during your induction. We have been working really hard to improve the experience for women who are needing their labours induced in Westburn Ward, and encouraging staff to support flexibility around partners staying in the ward. It's great to hear that your husband was not chased out, and the approach was more laid back, and that this helped provide you with the support you required. This is exactly what the team are aiming for, so it's helpful for staff to know this small change in practice made such a difference to you.


I will be sure to also pass on your thanks to Zoe and the labour ward team. Many congratulations on the birth of your 3rd baby and best wishes to you and your family.
