"Wonderful, caring, dedicated staff"

About: Southport & Formby District General Hospital / Cardiology

My father, Ben, died at the age of 95 in Southport Hospital on Feb 8th, 2018. He was in Ward 7A where everyone-doctors, nurses, care staff all treated him and us, his family, with dedication, respect and cheerfulness. Despite being incredibly busy, they took time to talk through decisions with us, and help with the treatment of my Dad in every way they could. I'd particularly like to single the doctors and nursing staff, but all of the ward staff were fantastic--patient, caring and empathetic. The Chaplain was also wonderful. The loss of my father is very hard, but the treatment he received made it just that bit easier to bear. Long live the NHS. Andrea Sarchet

Firstly may I take this opportunity to express my condolences for the loss of your father. And thank you for your comments regarding the care our ward staff gave him and your family. We know our staff work hard and do an excellent job, but it is very much appreciated when we hear direct from a patient or their family.

Your comments will be forwarded to the teams involved in his care.
