"Still waiting!"

About: Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital / Trauma and Orthopaedics

After being sent to the Norfolk and norwich pain clinic by my gp for treatment for a herniated disk in my back, i was hopeful that I was going to right place to be fixed and become pain free. After a 13 week wait I was called to ask if I could come in to see the consultant the next day. I did and was put at ease by the doctor and he explained that he want to try a epduial injection to ease my pain. I was sent away and told I would have the procedure within the next 6 weeks. 5 months later after not hearing a thing from the pain clinic i call them and a appointment was made for the following week for the epduial to be done. This was carried out by a different doctor then the one I had seen 5 months earlier. The epduial was carried out, and I was told I would be seen at the pain clinic in 3 months to see how I was doing. 4 weeks after having this done and just before Xmas I was rushed to a & e after losing all feeling in my legs. The feeling slowly came back and I was sent home the next day as I was keen to be seen by the team at n&n. The West Suffolk hospital had carried out a mri and sent this to the n&n and my gp also wrote to them explaining that I should be seen as quickly as possible. A month later a called the pain clinic and went through all of the above only to be told I can only call to make an appointment when I get a letter from the pain clinic.

Last week I was in having a bad time with the pain and getting pins and needles in my feet and a slight lose of sensation in my legs. My gp called the pain clinic and I was sent to the n&n right away. I was seen quickly when I got there. I was examined by a doctor that o had not seen be before. And I'm sure he did not read my notes or the latter my gp sent me there with. After being examined I was told to go and sit on the waiting room. 10 mins later the same doctor came out and In front of the whole waiting room told me that an appointment for an mri scan will be made and a letter will be sent telling me when. And that most hernatied disks heal within 3 months! Now I have had mine since November 2016. I have still not heard from my consultant at the pain clinic about my 3 month review for the epduial which clearly was not worked as I am in more pain than I have ever been in. I am not happy with the way I am being treated. And the lack of being seen at the pain clinic is a joke.
