I would like to take this opportunity to thank Ward 12 and the Gynaecology team of the BRI.
This all started with my GP at Bingley Medical Practice which eventually led to BRI and surgery. Throughout this time I saw compassion, care and dedication. I received exemplary care and heartfelt kindnesses.
Many times we hear of the bad experiences that people encounter while hospitalised. Hand on heart from the dietary people, to the cleaners, to the nurses/staff, to the antithesis team to the gynaecology team and surgeons ... I’ve nothing but praise.
The NHS might not be perfect but I ask you ... what is? People don’t give it the appreciation it’s due. I’ve lived and worked in the U.K. for going on 15 years. I’m an American. I will always love my country but in living here I’ve adopted England. I’ve seen health care on both sides of the Atlantic. Being American, I hate to admit it but the U.K. is better in that aspect. As I said, nothing is perfect but perhaps before complaining people should look at other countries. A friend just had surgery in the States. He pays dearly for his insurance every month. Now, on top of what his insurance has paid out, his debt will run into hundreds of thousands of dollars. You don’t see that happening here. Residents of the U.K. are blessed.
Keep up the checks and balances. Those are always needed. Carry on giving such great care and don’t forget that it takes every level of ability and knowledge to make the NHS what it is.
Many thanks
