Arriving at the clinic I felt incredibly anxious, however during my consultation the lady was so reassuring and caring. She tried to take my mind off feeling sick by making small talk and allowed me to lie down and get my breathing together.
After the initial consultation and scan I was lead down to a waiting room which had comfy reclining chairs. I then had to wait two hours while the pills worked, during that time I felt a lot of discomfort and pain, the ladies checked on me constantly offering heated pads and anything else I needed. I was then taken to get changed and awaited the procedure. I was incredibly nervous and once I was lead into the room a lady spoke calmly and explained each part of the procedure and checked I was OK. I was then told to take deep breaths and within 10 seconds I was under general anaesthetic. I then awoke in the recovery area to a nurse who asked if I was okay or needed anything.
Once the procedure was complete I was walked into the recovery room where I was offered a hot drink and lots of biscuits! A heat pad was provided for comfort which allowed me to relax until I was ready to get dressed and leave. I was in the clinic for a total of four hours.
Overall it was a good experience, all of the staff I interacted with were absolutely lovely, helpful and understanding. I can’t thank all of the staff enough for being so caring and reassuring.
"Lovely members of staff!"
