I visited the roYal derby on December 4th 2017, I had a bladder cancer which was on the muscle and I was told that surgery is the only option. So on the 4th December 2017 I had robotic assisted cystoprostatectomy woth removal of the pelvic lymph nodes and an iLeal conduit diversion. I was told that I was the first to have this operation which was done by robotic assisted because of this a surgeon from another country was brought in to do the operation. After the operation is spent 5 days in what they call a step down ward where I was attended to 24/7, the nurses and doctors were absolutely fantastic. I then went on to the ward 310 where I was till my discharge on the 11th of December, my recovery was going to plan. I have now had the C t scan and have seen the consultant at my local hospital and he said that every thing is working well and that the cancer had gone and that he would see me in 6 months. I might also add that there is no one on earth more anxious than me and that it took all my courage to get me to have the operation. If I can I would to express my gratitude to all the staff at royal derby hospital including all the staff in the operating theatre also the staff on ward 310 also the Secretary of the doctor thank you also to the surgeon from abroad of whom I am sorry to say I did not remember his name thank you for making me cancer free we have the best health service ever
