I had spinal surgery here last Monday (19.1.18) and every member of staff I met from the receptionist at my initial consultation, until my discharge the day following surgery, could not have been more professional or helpful!
The surgeon at initial consultation listened carefully to me and I felt like my opinions and concerns regarding various treatment options were listened to and respected.
When arriving for the operation at 7am I was met in reception by the ward receptionist who was very lovely and showed me to my private room. The room was immaculate with a modern en-suite
The surgeon and the anaesthetist came in to see me to discuss the procedure and to again give me an opportunity to ask any questions.
I was taken down to surgery at around 9-am, was met and attended to by the anaesthetist and another member of staff and before I knew it I was in recovery where I was looked after incredibly well (and they didn’t seem to mind my emotional state coming out of the anaesthetic!)
I was back in my room by 11:30/12ish.
The aftercare I received during my stay was tremendous, nothing was too much trouble and both the anaesthetist and the surgeon popped in post op to see how I was and to make sure I was getting enough pain relief. Options for meals were varied and plentiful and I especially liked tea being served in an actual teapot! Even the cheese sandwiches were deliscious!
I’m now a week post op and having had time to reflect on my exoerience I can honestly say that it was the best hospital stay and service I have received!
I would not hesitate to recommend this hospital to anyone (thank you!)
"Absolutely brilliant from start to finish"
