"Thank You for being here"

About: General practices in Lanarkshire University Hospital Hairmyres / Cardiology

(as the patient),

My GP at Auchinraith Medical Practice referred me to the Cardiology Department in Hairmyres for a ECG as I had a heart rate of 150 bpm which was quite frightening and needed further investigation.

It is a walk-in department and I was seen to within ten minutes of arrival, although the department wasn't busy I still thought that was pretty good. The nurse who carried out the ECG was very good, courteous and made me and my wife very welcome and was also very reassurring. He explained in very simple terms what an ECG was all about and asked me to get ready so that he could attached the pads and the connections which he did in a matter of seconds. The ECG was done again in a matter of seconds and he explained the results to me. He thought that I should be referred to the A&E and went and made the arrangements for me. He then took me and my wife through to the A&E and informed the duty doctor i was in the waiting area for further treatment.

Overall the treatment I received was very good and the experience was very reassuring. The experience was so good that my wife left a simple message in the Comments Box 'Thank You for being here' I think that says it all. Thank you very much.
