I was extremely happy with the care I received while giving birth to my son. I went in for an induction and within 24 hours I had delivered the baby. I was looked after by a total of five midwives at different stages. My husband and I were lucky enough to be given a trainee midwife (and ex doula) who stayed with us during the harder contractions. She was a great support to my husband in particular. I wanted an epidural but due to a doctor/room not being available and the speed of which I was dilating, the boat was missed. Although it was painful, I am happy that this was the outcome and I managed to give birth naturally. The midwife during the birth was amazingly supportive, as was the overnight care I received on the Gwillam Wing. I am lucky to live near a hospital that offers such a good level of care. The NHS is incredible.
"Great experience with lovely midwives"
