Has to be one of the most frightening things to hear a doctor tell you that you have had a heart attack. Certainly was for me.
From the moment it happened to me the care I received was first class. I was told every step of the way what had happened, what would happen and the reassurance I got from the staff, particularly the nurses, was so good that I was able to face whatever came. Because of them I put my positive head on and left myself in their hands
In the end the treatment wasn't half as bad as my mind had made me think. I had an angio.. I had a stent put in, I hardly knew it had happened........ was happening. Those doctors / surgeons are just so good.
One day later, yes one day, I was home. One week later I was back at work. Another week and I was driving, could have done it all earlier but kept my sensible head on.
I might have a night out next week, nothing too strenuous, maybe just some break dancing and flip flops. Wouldn't want to overdo it the first time :-)
But the point is, I am better than I was, I always had a healthy diet but it's even healthier now. My problem is a family history of high cholesterol, but because of the skills of these wonderful people and the good advice they gave me, I can carry on with life as I want it to be.
Thank you to all of you
