I fell badly in November 2017 Broke my wrist and, as it turned out a 3 weeks later, broke my hip. This break did not show up on the X rays so I suspect it was a stress fracture that got worse with walking on it. Eventully I rang 111. They were brilliant as were the Ambulance service who contacted me every 2 hours until an ambulance could get to me.
I arrived at Pilgrim hospital about 10pm and the next day had a total hip replacement. From start to finish, the staff at Pilgrim on ward 3b were brilliant I was in a room with 3 other "hips" We all got on well and the staff would join in when they were dealing with us. The Doctors were as good and we were naughty really. We did take the rise out of people to their faces so the new we were only joking. We all agreed the care we had was very good.
Pilgrim has long been "my" hospital. First went there in 1974 before it officially opened. Has always been good to me and mine and would not go anywhere else unless I was forced .
