"Poor food choices"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow

(as a service user),

I have been a patient twice at SGU (Neuro) from 2015. I don't like to complain but for things to change feedback is essential. there isn't anyway else to describe this- I think the food is awful. It is tasteless (even the soup) and the choices are poor. The way the food is ordered isn't ideal. Several times I was not at my bedside and because the catering staff are not ward staff they don't know you might have just nipped to the toilet or are seeing the doctor in a private room- they then make a choice for you!! My family brought most of my food in from home and we became creative with cup soups and rolls and deli filler. Since QEUH M&S opened my last stay in hospital I spent quite a lot of money on salad and pasta bowls!!

Dear februarynf38,

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback. As you note, it is useful for us to know what people think in order for us to make any required changes.

I am sorry to hear that you feel the food is tasteless and that you are sometimes not being given the opportunity to order for yourself. I will pass your feedback to the Facilities team for them to consider.

Thank you once again.

Julie
