Anything else?
I saw my consultant on December 2nd 2010. Yesterday I had an appointment to be at ward F3 at 11.00 for my operation on my Hernia. At 1215 after having my checks done by the nursing staff I was then told that my operation had been cancelled and a new date was given to me for April 5th 2011. This morning my consultant's secretary telephoned to say that I might be able to have an earlier appointment. After a short while another secretary telephoned to ask me if I would accept an appointment under another surgeon for my operation on April 11th 2010. I realise operations have to be moved for emergencys but why do they have to be put to the back of the queue? I had the experience of having my Total Knee Replacement operation cancelled in August 2010 but it was done the following day.
"Not a pleasant experience."
