"A & E Assessment and care"

About: King George Hospital / Accident and emergency

Sent home in agony with blocked stoma. I have recently needed the help of A&E several times. The care has been good however yesterday they failed and this should be brought to your attention.

When a stoma is blocked for more than 8 hours one should seek professional help. Mine was blocked for 26 hours!!!

I did receive good care when i presented to A&E ie antiemetic for vomiting, IV fluids, and mild analgesic, xray . I was informed there was no blockage sent home

Feeling so unwell I phoned 111 and their team was supportive. Fortunately the blockage cleared after 26 hours by this time I was desperate
