"I feel like I am taking control of my life again"

(as the patient),

When I first started going to my meetings at Inclusion Thurrock I was really worried as I had a lot of issues due to what had happened to me as I child.

I was afraid and felt like I was going crazy but as I started trusting my therapist and trusting her she helped me deal with my worst nightmare which was telling my family what had happened to me, she made me feel safe and made me feel strong and gave me the strength to do things I never thought I could.

I suffered from anxiety during my first pregnancy as it brought back a lot of bad memories, my anxiety was taking over my life and I was scared and on edge all the time I couldn’t go out the house without being scared something awful would happened. I had urges to clean constantly to try to stop panicking and brush away my anxiety, she helped me through that and she also helped me control my panic attacks which I never thought I could do. But, with her help and her care I got through all my problems and now I feel like I am taking control of my life again-  finally living for now and not in the past.

Her name was Leah and I am so grateful to her for teaching me and helping me be back in control of my life. I thank her with all my heart for what she did.

Hearing your wonderful story gives hope to many other people who may, like yourself, have those thoughts that things can never change or get better

I can tell that you have regained belief in yourself and your strengths - brilliant!!

You have obviously also learned some understanding of how we can get trapped by our emotions, our past, and then developed the skills to combat this!! again brilliant!!

I am always humbled by reading and responding to wonderful stories like yours octanspm68, and I will of course share this with the team at Inclusion Thurrock.
