My Grandad was receiving end of life care on ward 3A at The Royal Liverpool Hospital . At what was an extremely distressing time for the family, the staff on the ward were fantastic. They supported the family, offering practical as well as emotional support - the HCA's even bought us tea and toast in the small hours when we sat holding our grandad's hand!
More importantly, the care that they showed my grandad was outstanding.
I must mention in particular, a nurse called Aaron (i'm afraid i don't know his surname) The compassion that he showed my grandad at all times did not go unnoticed. He was so kind and caring and this was gratefully acknowledged.
All too often, we speak out when things have gone wrong. In this case, I would like people to know what a difference compassionate, caring staff can make to the patient and their loved ones.
"What a difference compassionate, caring staff can make."
