"Fantastic care"

About: Weston General Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

My 87 year old mother has just had a stay in Weston Hospital due to a fractured hip. I can't praise the staff highly enough for making her time in the hospital so nice. She received excellent care from the wonderful caring staff. My mother has recently moved to the Burnham on Sea and this is her first visit to the hospital. She has spent a lot of time in and out of hospital in the last couple of years and has never know such a caring team.

When she was admitted she was not eating and had lost a lot of weight, she had no appetite and no interest in food at all. She has enjoyed the food so much that she has been encouraged to eat that she now is eating full meals and has an appetite back.

Staff laid on a tea party last week to encourage the patients to eat and it worked a treat. Everyone has gone above and beyond and I really appreciate that. Nothing it too much trouble. My mothers stay was on Hutton Ward and the cleanliness was outstanding. Every member of the team on the ward smile non stop , it's so lovely to see. I have contacted Pals to relay my thanks to the staff on Hutton ward, but I wanted my comments to get seen by a wider group of people as I feel the hospital and staff deserve it. Keep up the good work.

Sue
