"Lack of continuity across services"

Having lymphoma and skin cancer, I had to attend appointments in 5 hospitals in merseyside. Some of these appointments were on the same day.

I had a difficult time then trying to decide which appointment was priority and then spent many hours trying to cancel or rebook appointments, all because none of the hospitals were on the same IT systems so could not access my details and solve this problem with 1 call.

This also caused problems with blood tests etc. Which I had done the day before in 1 hospital but another hospital couldn't access the results without many attempts by phone and fax to get results. I don't know how many older people cope on their own with this problem.

No wonder many don't turn up for appointments.
