First visit to Ward found mother in 90s slumped in chair with black bloody vomit stretching on gown stretching from neck to floor some 6 inches wide and in a puddle of black blood some 10/12 inches by 18 inches!, blood dried in nightie so been there some time.
Ordered nurse to attend!! This was beyond neglect.
All staff wanted to say is we haven’t got time, I am busy somewhere else, excuse and inexcusable waffle.
Disgusted.
From there the respect and care shown to her and others went downhill.
Some of it is obviously institutional and management needs to take some lessons from nursing and care homes about the respect and dignity and care of elderly.
Why if I have a complaint that could be suffered by a 30 yr old is there a policy of putting patient in geriatricward!
Negative discrimination abounds without evidence of positive appropriate intervention.,
The list of horror is interminable.
For just one stay.
She has no dementia. I would need to write an essay to cover all the points that were pushed in my face.
