"patronising consultant"

About: Castle Hill Hospital / Urology

I,m writing this review on behalf of my partner who has had several bouts of kidney stones/renal colic..the first time was a few years ago and scans confirmed he had kidney stones he was admitted to the ward at castle hill and had to wee in a bottle so the nurses could see he was passing them..he was later discharged and his discharge note confirmed renal colic, the second episode was a couple of years ago he went to the gp with the pain and a sample confirmed the same thing, he recently had a 3rd episode and was referred to a consultant at urology castle hill as it was recurring so he waited a few weeks then the date for his appointment came, the consultant was very patronising and dis interested in what my partner was saying, he explained everything and all the consultant was interested in was looking at the computer and previous scans from different appointments which were for something completely different..he had pain in his lower back on one side..was frequently wanting to wee etc the consultant said..nothing to do with your kidneys..i can tell you with a capital N you have never had kidney stones then said I'm discharging you and sent him out feeling upset..this is disgusting and yes it was kidney stones and he has all the proof..i would not recommend this consultant atall!!!
