"Communication skills"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Emergency Department

(as a parent/guardian),

My 2 year son was admitted to A&E. He was seen within 5 mins of us checking in and all staff were fantastic. The nurse who worked with us for most of the 3 hours we were in was great with my son and also with reassuring us as parents. I can’t remember her name but she was fantastic. She brought my son some warm milk, spoke kindly to him and explained everything to us. The doctor -Kathy - interacted skillfully with my son, listened carefully to my concerns and pitched her communication skills at the perfect level. My son was discharged when both staff and parents were happy with his presentation. A huge thanks to everyone

Dear HappyTuesday

Thank you very much for getting in touch and for your comments in relation to the care your son received whilst having to attend the Emergency Department here at University Hospital Wishaw. I indeed hope that he is recovering well and his health continues to improve.

It is always nice to get positive feedback and I will ensure this will be shared across the Emergency team here. I have no doubt they will be delighted for the feedback.

Thank you once again and Best Wishes

Faith
