I was recommended to go to the minor injuries department at Herts and Essex hospital as I suspected I had broken my hand and would need an X-ray.
I was seen too quickly and sent off for an X-ray. All the staff at all stages were lovely and very personable. My X-ray was done quickly and I was back speaking to the nurse about my broken hand.
I was in and out in just over an hour. With no prior appointments or waiting and all for free. I have lived abroad for a few years and we are all tremendously lucky that when a bad accident befalls you, we have this kind of service and these people. You’re not lumped with bills, right when you need your health at work the most, especially working a very physical job like myself.
Thank you to everyone at that hospital you do an amazing job and don’t get the recognition you deserve. There’s an awful lot of negative news surrounding the NHS but at its core principles it’s fantastic that we live in a country where we all pay to look out for one another. It’s easy to take this for granted.
"We are lucky to have such a fantastic facility..."
