Yesterday I was sent by my GP to the TIA unit in Room 25 in the Out-Patients department, until yesterday I did not even know this wonderful service existed.
Obviously I was anxious following my visit to my GP, I was greeted by this very kind and friendly nurse who immediately put me at ease. She explained what she was planning to do, ECG and to take my blood-pressure. She maintained my dignity throughput. A Doppler scan of my carotid arteries was performed, again very professional and reassuring.
I was then seen by a Doctor who was very thorough and told me all my results were normal and there was nothing to worry about.
What an amazing service, I feel so blessed we have such a fantastic hospital here at Torbay with such caring and very efficient staff. Thank you.
"Fantastic TIA unit."
