I attended the Penine breast screening unit for a mammogram and was called back for further screening. This was the following week and on returning I was informed that they had found something that could be the start of cancer and that I needed a biopsy to determine what exactly it was. The biopsy was performed straight away and the care & compassion from the nurses helped to keep me calm & reassured. The results took three weeks to come back, but it was Christmas and whilst this was an anxious time for me it was OK in the end as the results were benign & nothing to worry about. I just wanted to say that this unit should feel extremely proud of the work they do and the care that they give to their patients, from the lady on reception who kept checking that I was ok, to the nurses and breast care nurse who reassured and answered my questions. They all made an unpleasant experience bearable. I'd just like to say thank you and we are lucky to have a unit like this in Bradford.
